A personal note from Vincent F. Salvia, Founder and CEO of the Angel Healthcare Group, now Generations Healthcare Group.
“On June 4, 1999 I filed the initial corporate papers creating the beginning of the Angel Healthcare Group. It made good business sense to enter the healthcare field when looking at America’s nursing shortage and an expanding market assisting the growing needs of America’s elder population.
As a fledgling new company I did all of the interviewing and hiring of employees. This enlightening experience allowed me to learn firsthand of the dedication and compassion for the care of others possessed by most healthcare service professionals. I listened intently as each nurse shared their stories and experiences with me.
For our first Christmas I gave our employees poinsettia plants and angel figurines, but this did not seem like enough. I desired to give them something more, something from the heart. It was at this time, just before our first Christmas, that I wrote “Angels in Scrubs™”. It is their story, returned to them in the heartfelt verse you can read below.
Since that time other thoughts emerged and were written to share with those who might have interest. Each verse comes from the experiences that we shared each day. In the past such works were with Angels but now we have evolved to become Generations. I eagerly wait to see what each new day will bring; sometimes with a bit of trepidation, but always with joy.
We have our Mission Statement which tells of the intent and nature of our business model, but is the writings below which tells of its Spirit. I hope you enjoy the verse and that the messages are of value to you.”
